A recent article on mobile app Yo stated
that many were complaining about the functionality of Yo, which simply allows
you to message the word Yo to your friends, and basically that’s it and I mean
THAT’S IT!
Because of this only one function
in Yo, As with most new ideas, people across social media were swift in dismissing
Yo. However, legendary venture capitalist Marc Andreessen thinks the naysayers
should be a bit more open-minded.
What he meant was to see the
big picture. In this article too there is an example relating to missed calls. A missed
call is a telephone call that is deliberately terminated by the caller
before being answered by its intended recipient, appearing as a "missed
call" on the receiver's cellphone. In Bangladesh, missed calls generate up
to 70% of cellular network traffic at all given time. The Cellular Operators
Association of India, COAI, has instituted a case to comprehend the profits
implications of missed calls in India. Weird enough, the losses of up to 30% in industry are made by missed calls. Companies
are using this so called “tool” to generate profits.
Hence, it is not the time to
protest on the Yo yet. Yo is an instant
one-bit communication where it can be Yes or no, Yo or no yo
