This recent article on 3 July
2014 illustrate that Michael Acton Smith, whose achievement with "Moshi
Monsters" has turn him into one of Britain's best-known tech
entrepreneurs, is betting that the innovative podium can detain a largely untouched
social-network subscriber base that is children between the ages of 7 and 12.
That being said, he is officially releasing
his own social network for children in the United Kingdom. Michael on Friday
launched PopJam, a mobile app through which kids are capable of posting photos,
craft and share drawings, or to tag on certain topics or brands. So far, the marketplace
has been restricted to a small number of networks dedicated to games or highly
controlled chat services, such as Walt Disney Corporations. Children under 13 are excluded from many matured networks, including Facebook. In fact, majority who
join are by using their parents' accounts or dishonest about their ages.
Michael intention is understandable,
yet the curiosity on the future of this plan may need to be further analysed. The
use of mobile apps does enable children to explore their inner creativity and build confidence. Thus, I would encourage Michael’s plan because i believe that youngsters shouldn't be
raised up in an extremely recognized world where advertising is influencing the way people behave.
